What TailorFit is
TailorFit is a free web tool that helps job seekers adapt their resume and cover letter to a specific job posting. You provide your resume (pasted, uploaded, or built from a short form) and the posting. TailorFit uses AI to rewrite your resume so its wording and emphasis match the role, and it can draft a matching cover letter. It also includes a live job search so you can find openings to tailor for.
Why it exists
Tailoring a resume for every application is one of the most effective things a job seeker can do, and one of the most tedious. TailorFit exists to produce a solid first draft quickly, so your time goes into reviewing it and into the applications themselves.
What it will not do
- It does not invent experience, skills, or qualifications. It rephrases and reorders what you give it.
- It does not guarantee interviews or job offers.
- It does not replace your own judgement. Always read and edit the result before you send it to an employer.
How your information is handled
TailorFit has no accounts and does not keep a database of resumes. The text you submit is used to generate your result and is not saved by TailorFit. The Privacy Policy explains this in full, including the outside services involved.
What it's built with
AI text generation runs through Groq, live job listings come from Adzuna, and the site is hosted on Vercel. Resume downloads are available as a plain, single-column Word document designed to read cleanly in applicant tracking systems. To learn how those systems work, see our guide to applicant tracking systems.
An independent project
TailorFit is built and run independently. It is free to use, and it may display advertising (through Google AdSense) to help cover running costs. Feedback is welcome, and the site continues to be improved based on what job seekers find useful or confusing.
