No. 04 — The Label

Privacy & how this works.

Short version

TailorFit doesn't create accounts, doesn't ask for a password, and doesn't keep a database of your information. What you paste, upload, or type in is used only to generate your result, then it's gone.

What happens to your resume and job posting text

The text you provide is sent to our AI provider (currently accessed through OpenRouter) solely to generate your tailored resume, cover letter, or to run a job search. It passes through our server in memory while your request is processed — it is not written to a database or saved anywhere by TailorFit.

What happens to an uploaded file

If you upload a PDF or Word document, it is read in memory just long enough to extract the text, then discarded. The file itself is never saved to disk or stored.

What's stored in your browser

After tailoring a resume or generating a cover letter, the result is temporarily held in your browser's session storage so it can be shown on the results page. This is cleared automatically when you close the tab — it never leaves your device and is not sent to us for storage.

Third parties involved

TailorFit relies on a small number of outside services to function:

  • OpenRouter — processes the text you submit to generate AI results. Subject to OpenRouter's own privacy practices.
  • Adzuna — powers live job search results for supported countries.
  • Vercel — hosts this website.

We don't control these providers' internal data practices beyond what's needed to make requests to them.

What we recommend

Avoid pasting sensitive personal information beyond what you'd normally put on a resume (name, contact details, work history). Review your tailored resume and cover letter before sending them to an employer — TailorFit assists with drafting, it doesn't guarantee accuracy.
